Angazhan (pronounced ANG-uh-zan)[1] rules over the Abyssal realm of Ahvoth-Kor and is the demon lord of savage strength and destruction.[2]
Appearance
Angazhan appears as an enormous, muscular and savage red-furred ape with six slender fingers capable of complex manipulation or tearing a man limb from limb. Angazhan's ape-like demonic visage is completed by his tusk-like teeth and tiny bloodshot eyes giving him a unique appearance amongst his simian followers.[3][4][5]
Cult and worshipers
Cults to the Ravener King on Golarion are concentrated in the Mwangi Expanse, where he is venerated by both the human tribe of the Bekyar, and the simian charau-ka, or ape-men, who feast on men like livestock.[5][6][7] The expanse is also home to Angazhan's most favored mortal servant, Ruthazek the Gorilla King, who leads the Spawn of Angazhan from his throne in the city of Usaro. It is not clear what it is about the Mwangi Expanse that has drawn the Demon Lord's attention to the region for so long but Ruthazek is merely the latest of a long line of Gorilla Kings dating back to before humans ruled in Garund.[8][4][9]
In his home realm of Ahvoth-Kor Angazhan is served by thousands of powerful nalfeshnees and while few of the fiercely independent demons would care to admit it Angazhan does serve as their lord and master.[10][4]
Angazhan is served by his created minions the Baregara in Ahvoth-Kor as well as in Material Plane jungles important to him, such as the Mwangi Expanse.[11]
