Bien qu'ils soient connus sous le nom de Territoires alliés, il n'est pas rare que des querelles de territoire, des échanges commerciaux, des fusions malaisées, où un territoire avale l'autre en entier, ou des scissions et des dissolutions dans des guerres civiles rapides, se produisent. Les autres territoires n'interviennent que lorsqu'il apparaît que l'un d'entre eux est susceptible de conquérir plusieurs de ses voisins, la plupart d'entre eux n'entrant en guerre que lorsque cela profite le plus à leur territoire.
