Lorsque ceux qui décèdent laissent des enfants, ces derniers ont soudainement besoin d&#039;un endroit où vivre et grandir. Korvosa répond à ce besoin malheureux avec cinq orphelinats publics relativement petits qui reçoivent des inspections fréquentes des églises d&#039;Abadar et de Sarenrae. Ces orphelinats accueillent également des enfants retirés à des parents abusifs ou condamnés pour des crimes violents.<br /> <br /> La vie dans ces orphelinats est stricte et très réglementée, offrant une formation précoce à ceux qui souhaitent rejoindre la Garde de Korvosan, la Compagnie de Sable ou même les Hellknights locaux. Beaucoup de ceux qui atteignent l&#039;âge de 18 ans et quittent les orphelinats rejoignent effectivement les organisations militaires, et la plupart de ceux qui ne le font pas choisissent la vie errante des aventuriers.<br /> <br /> Les trois orphelinats de taille moyenne se trouvent à Midland (High Bridge, Pillar Hill et Slope), le plus grand dans le quartier Mainshore de North Point et le plus petit à East Shore.
